Screw conveyor installation process


For the correct installation of the screw conveyor, it is a prerequisite for good use in the future. The installation of the screw machine at the place of use must be properly carried out and meet the requirements of this technical condition:


 1 The installation of the screw conveyor should be irrigated to complete its foundation at least 20 days before the official installation of the screw conveyor. Its foundation should be able to reliably support the conveyor and ensure that the sinking and additional deformation of the screw machine will not occur due to too small foundation support force. Ensure that the screw machine has sufficient stability during operation.

 2 Before installing the screw conveyor, those parts that are stuck with dirt during transportation or unloading the box must be cleaned.

3 The longitudinal deviation and longitudinal unevenness of the screw conveyor casing and the main frame at both ends are 1/1000 of the length.


4 The support surface of the cover of each casing of the screw conveyor should be in the same plane over the entire length of the screw machine.


5. The inner surfaces of the two adjacent casings of the screw conveyor must not have significant height at their joints.

6. Each base of the screw conveyor should be solid after the casing is installed, and then tighten the anchor screws.

7. Each intermediate suspension bearing of the screw conveyor should reliably support the coupling shaft between the two sections of the screw, and the screw cannot be jammed or bent. During installation, it can be adjusted between the base of the hanging bearing and the supporting angle of the cabinet. The shims concentrically hang the bearings.

8. The minimum clearance between the outer diameter of the screw conveyor and the bottom of the semi-circular groove of the casing during installation shall not be less than 70% of its nominal clearance.

9. The clearance between the end face of the rolling bearing of the end flat bearing group and the end face of the bearing seat and the end cover shall not be less than 2mm.

10. In order to adjust the cumulative deviation between the length of the casing and the spiral, asbestos tape is allowed to be added between the flanges of each casing when the screw machine is installed. When higher sealing is required, the casing and the cover can also be cushioned Waterproof coarse canvas.

11. The final speed shaft of the driving device and the screw machine should be kept concentric. If the driving device is connected to the transmission shaft of the screw machine with a balanced coupling, the deviation of the parallelism of the final shaft of the driving device and the transmission shaft of the screw machine should not exceed 1/100. The parallel displacement of the axis shall not exceed 0.2 mm.

12. All connecting screws should be tightened to a reliable level.

13. The on-site installation of the inlet and outlet should ensure that the flange support surface of the inlet and outlet is parallel to the axis of the screw conveyor, and the flange connected to it should be closely fitted with no gaps.

14. After the screw machine is installed, it should be checked whether there is enough lubricating oil in each oil storage, if it is not enough, it should be added enough, and then no load test can be carried out.

15. After the screw conveyor is installed, a continuous unloaded test run for more than 4 hours should be carried out. When the unloaded test drive is run, the correctness of the screw machine assembly should be paid attention to.

 a. The operation of the screw machine should be stable and reliable.

b. No oil leakage should occur in each bearing box.

c. The temperature rise of each bearing shall not exceed 20℃.

d. The fastening parts shall not be loosened.

e. The idle power of the screw conveyor must not exceed 30% of the rated power. If the above defects are found, they should be corrected immediately, and then run again until there are no such defects.


Screw conveyors are widely used in various industries, such as building materials, chemicals, power, metallurgy, coal, grain and other industries, suitable for horizontal or inclined conveying powder, granular and small block materials, such as coal, ash, slag, cement, grain Wait, the material temperature is less than 200 ℃. The screw conveyor is not suitable for conveying materials that are easily deteriorated, viscous and easy to agglomerate. Note for customer selection: The screw conveyor is not suitable for conveying materials that are easily deteriorated, viscous, and easy to agglomerate, because these materials will stick to the screw during transportation and rotate with it without moving forward or hanging. Accumulation of materials is formed at the bearing, which prevents the screw conveyor from working properly. The screw diameter of the LS screw conveyor is from 200 mm to 500 mm. There are five specifications, the length is from 4 meters to 70 meters, and the file is every 0.5 meters. The model meets the standard nominal length during the selection. 1. Conveying capacity: The conveying capacity of the screw feeder refers to the amount of material conveyed per unit time. When transporting bulk materials, it is calculated by the mass or volume of the material transported per hour; when transporting the finished items, it is calculated by the number of pieces transported per hour. When matching with linear vibrating screen, rotary vibrating screen, ultrasonic vibrating screen and other vibrating screen equipment, the feed amount of vibrating screen should be calculated to control the conveying volume. Before designing and producing most conveyors, it is necessary to consider whether to use them with other production equipment in order to design the conveyor type reasonably.

 2. Conveying speed: Increasing the conveying speed can improve the conveying capacity. When the conveyor belt is used as a traction member and the conveying length is large, the conveying speed is increasing day by day. However, high-speed belt conveyors need to pay attention to vibration, noise and starting and braking problems. For conveyors that use chains as traction members, the conveying speed should not be too large to prevent increasing the dynamic load. At the same time, the feed speed of the feeder should be determined according to the production process requirements.
