Analysis of advantages and disadvantages of electric stop valve

Electric stop valve is generally fully open and fully closed. Considering the flow characteristics, stop valve and ball valve have the characteristics of short opening and closing stroke, fast speed, reliable sealing, small opening and closing static torque, so both kinds of products are applied. However, in terms of reliability, the main product is still pneumatic stop valve.


Advantages of electric stop valve in use:

1. It is simple in structure and convenient in manufacture and maintenance.

2. Small working stroke, short opening and closing time.

3. Good sealing performance, small friction between sealing surfaces and long service life.

4. The structure of electric stop valve body includes straight through type, direct current type and right angle type. Straight through is the most common structure, but its fluid resistance is the largest. Direct flow fluid has less resistance, and is mostly used for fluid with solid particles or high viscosity. The right angle valve body is mostly forged, which is suitable for the stop valve with small diameter and high pressure.

5. In the process of opening and closing, the friction of the sealing surface is smaller than that of the gate valve, which is wear-resistant.

6. Generally, there is only one sealing surface, with good manufacturing process and easy maintenance.


Disadvantages of electric stop valve in use:

1. The fluid resistance is large, and the force required for opening and closing is large.

2. It is not suitable for medium with particles, high viscosity and easy coking.

3. Poor regulation performance.

4. The electric stop valve adopts bellows seal design, which completely eliminates the shortcomings of aging and quick leakage of common valve stem packing seal, not only improves the energy efficiency, increases the safety of production equipment, reduces the maintenance cost and frequent maintenance, but also provides a clean and safe working environment.


Use advantages

1. Double seal design (bellows + packing) if bellows fail, stem packing will also be avoided;

2. Leakage, and in accordance with international sealing standards;

3. No fluid loss, reduce energy loss and improve plant equipment safety;

4. Long service life, reducing maintenance times and operating cost;

5. Strong and durable bellows seal design ensures zero leakage of valve stem and provides maintenance free conditions.
